Metallurgy Engineering


The college started Diploma in metallurgy course certified by AICTE after undertaking for three years (including 6 semesters ) along with 5 other creamy courses EC, CS, Civil,  Electrical, Mechanical . The first batch commenced in the  year 2007 with an intake of 40 students and now the strength is 60 students since 2010 . Diploma in metallurgy engineering as a department was established with the view as one of  the most preffered technical course in demand from the industry end to fulfill the growing demand for manpower The course  offers full fledged knowledge of subjects related to metallurgical engineering a rare course only in a few top colleges.

The academic syllabus is based on most  widely used units and process  in Ironplants and Steel producing units ,manufacturing industries to produce finished components, fabrication, rolling ,Foundries, testing methods and use of equipments for material testing and other familiar topics The students gain  knowledge and skill to work on these topics through project work .
 
The lab facilities provided are good with all the equipments concerned to physical metallurgy lab , foundry practice , TMM lab , welding practice .The students get knowledge and skill to The students are provided with good library book facilities (over 500 copies ).

The Department concerned has professional faculty members with experience in teaching and industry as well to guide the students on subjects and practically as well through visit to industries This year the visit was to VISL ,Bhadravathi. Kudremukh iron and steel company, Mangalore. Sri Rajarajeshwari foundry ,Bhdravathi .

The students after completion of the course get chances to be well placed through competitive written test and interview in campus . Some of the industries frequently visit are JINDAL ,Tata motors, Kirloskar ferrous industries etc. The students get a scope for success and bright future.
